Pupukea has lots of beautiful birds & I think because of all the flowers & fruit trees in our yard they seem to love hanging around here...well, at least until the kids or the dogs come runnin'.
This baby African Common Waxbill fell out of her nest & we saved her.
This little guy just recently started visiting. He's a Pacific Golden Plover Spring or 'Kolea' in Hawaiian. These birds nest in Alaska and migrate to Hawaii during the winter months.
I hope to get some better pictures of this beautiful bird soon. This is a White Rumped Shama - in Singapore and other southeast Asian cities this bird is the most prized singer of all. This bird is a true thrush and is just as beautiful to listen to as she is to see.
